Hartford Foundation for Public Giving

As the community foundation for Greater Hartford, the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving is committed to bringing together resources to improve the lives of all residents. Made possible by the gifts of generous individuals, families and organizations, the Foundation has awarded grants of more than $750 million since its founding in 1925.

The Foundation is committed to addressing systemic disparities around race, place and income. In particular, we are focused on the Black and Latinx populations, as well as closing the opportunity gap for urban residents. We strive to enhance partnerships between philanthropy, nonprofits and the corporate community, informed by residents’ lived experiences.
