The Zone project is a multi-sector, place-based initiative focused on safe and nurtured kids, thriving families, and connected schools and neighborhoods in northeast Spokane. In partnership with The Zone Project, Innovia received a three-year investment by the Ballmer Group to support quality expanded learning opportunities for children and youth in the underserved northeast region of Spokane.
This initiative facilitates strong data collection and assessment to measure the impact of programming on students year-round. High quality programming is supported, measurable and sustainable. Organizations receiving funding support programs that serve refugee children, mentoring programs, after school enrichment that primes a younger student’s interests in STEM curriculum for high school, and an in-school diversion program to reduce the number of juvenile offenses.
